Our Story

How InsideJob Started

InsideJob was founded on a simple insight: manufacturers need sales development that actually understands their world.

That insight did not come from theory. It came from experience. Our founders started in manufacturing itself — in investment casting, machining, die casting, and extrusion. After moving into sales roles, they were repeatedly placed into the same situation: territories with no pipeline, no recent activity, and no clear path to growth.

In one case, a territory had gone completely cold following a plant closure. In another, a new company needed to build demand from the ground up. Each time, the challenge was the same: create opportunity where none existed. So we did.

By building targeted outreach systems and eventually an in-house SDR team, we helped grow a business to nearly $100M in revenue within four years. Along the way, we sold everything from die castings and machined components to extrusions, roll formed products, and galvanized steel tubing. Different products. Different markets. Same problem — and the same solution.

That is when it clicked. Most SDR firms approach manufacturing like any other industry: generic messaging, shallow research, and disconnected execution. But manufacturing sales is different. It is technical, relationship-driven, and often complex. It requires people who understand both sides.

Today, we partner with manufacturers across die casting, machining, forging, extrusion, and more to build predictable pipelines, reduce sales development burden, and help their teams focus on closing and production.

Because sales is an InsideJob — it requires deep knowledge, dedicated strategy, and people who genuinely understand your industry.

Why We Are Different

Manufacturing expertise meets proven execution

Pillar One

Built for Manufacturing

We understand the technical and commercial realities of manufacturing. From die casting to machining to extrusion, we know how your products are specified, sourced, and sold — and we build outreach that reflects that.

Pillar Two

Proven Pipeline Creation

We specialize in building pipeline from scratch. Whether a territory is inactive or growth has stalled, we create consistent, qualified opportunities where none existed before.

Pillar Three

Data-Driven by Design

Every campaign is built on targeting, testing, and performance data tied directly to pipeline. No vanity metrics — just measurable results.

Tim Johnson, CEO and Co-Founder of InsideJob

Tim Johnson

CEO & Co-Founder

Tim Johnson is the CEO of InsideJob, a mechanical engineer, and a manufacturing nerd who genuinely enjoys the details: how parts are made, how a shop floor operates, and how purchasing decisions actually happen in industrial companies. Tim earned his mechanical engineering degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering and built his career in manufacturing-focused roles, including sales engineering and business development leadership, before founding InsideJob.

Over and over, he saw the same pattern: manufacturers with strong capabilities and solid teams still hit growth ceilings because prospecting gets pushed to the side. Quoting, operations, and customer work always come first, and that makes pipeline inconsistent.

InsideJob exists to fix that. Tim and the team help manufacturers build predictable growth through clear positioning, targeted outbound outreach, and a focus on conversations that lead to RFQs, meetings, and real opportunities.

Matt Halldin, COO and Co-Founder of InsideJob

Matt Halldin

Co-Founder & COO

Matt Halldin is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of InsideJob, where he helps manufacturers grow by turning disciplined outreach into real opportunities. Matt didn't take a straight line into business development. He started as a mechanical engineer working on aerospace components, then moved into roles leading operations, marketing, and product management, building a toolkit that's as diverse as it is practical.

Matt also served in the U.S. Army, an experience that left a lasting impact on how he approaches business and life. The Army instilled in him a respect for clear systems, personal accountability, and pushing through challenges with grit, values that still guide how he builds teams and solves problems today.

Over his career, Matt has helped manufacturers tackle quality issues on the shop floor, reposition their brands in crowded markets, and launch new products that opened doors to entirely new customers. This range means he knows firsthand what it takes to keep a machine shop running smoothly, how to build a sales funnel from scratch, and why both matter equally when landing major programs.

Originally from Wisconsin, Matt now calls South Carolina home, where he lives with his wife Ashley and their dogs, Lambert and LeFou. When he's not working, you'll usually find him golfing or diving into the next home project.

Jithin J Neerackal

Co-Founder & Managing Director, India Operations

Jithin J Neerackal is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of India Operations at InsideJob. A mechanical engineer with an MBA and multiple global certifications, he brings over 15 years of experience across manufacturing, operations, and global business.

He started his career on the manufacturing shop floor, developing a practical understanding of processes, production challenges, and what it takes to deliver at scale. Over time, he transitioned into building and leading business verticals, taking them from zero to one and scaling them into stable, revenue-generating operations.

At InsideJob, Jithin leads sales operations, ensuring that outreach translates into qualified opportunities, RFQs, and long-term customer relationships. His combined experience in manufacturing and business leadership helps bridge the gap between customer requirements and reliable execution.

When he's not working, Jithin enjoys staying active, exploring new ideas in business and manufacturing, and spending time with his family.

Pedro Palacios

Director of Revenue Operations

Why Manufacturers Choose Us

The InsideJob Advantage

Confident manufacturing sales meeting in progress — a sales professional presenting a laptop screen showing a growth...

Manufacturers choose InsideJob because sales development is often where growth breaks down.

Sales teams get comfortable managing existing accounts instead of building new pipeline. Hiring a technically capable sales rep who can also prospect effectively is difficult. Marketing efforts produce inconsistent results. And trade shows — while valuable — are expensive, time-consuming, and unpredictable.

The result is the same: an unreliable pipeline and missed growth opportunities. InsideJob solves this by giving manufacturers a dedicated sales development function built specifically for their industry.

Instead of relying on internal bandwidth or generic outsourcing, you get a team that understands how manufacturing buyers think, how sourcing decisions are made, and how to consistently generate qualified opportunities.

Our result: qualified leads that convert, pipeline growth in as little as 30 days, and a repeatable system for building new business.
